This private tour to the active Fagradalsfjall volcano in Iceland and the smokey lava valley is suitable for everyone, including seniors or families with small kids.
On this tour, you will see the newest "ongoing" eruption from Grindavik. As this area is restricted to the general public, the best option is to hike to Fagradalsfjall, and from the hiking trail, the newest eruption is visible. Please note that this information may change at any time as the situation develops daily.
It's a custom hiking experience with your private guide to the Fagradalsfjall volcanic eruption in the Reykjanes Peninsula. You will control the pace, and nobody will rush you during the tour.
You can select to be picked up at your accommodation or self-drive to our meeting point. Both options are available to book using our booking engine.
The guide will choose the type of hike based on the weather conditions and your fitness level to ensure a tailor-made excursion.
We will visit the volcano area, walk along the newly formed lava, and get closer to the volcanic crater and the smokey valley (weather dependent).

This involves our guides utilizing gas meters to assess air quality and assure your safety. Emergency masks are also readily available if the situation demands. We stay constantly vigilant of the safety guidelines issued by the SAAR team (Iceland's Search, Rescue & Injury Prevention Association) and local authorities. Your well-being is our utmost priority.
Flexibility is the key to this tour, as we may adjust the schedule based on the weather conditions. Since this is a private tour, the hike can be custom, and the starting time will be flexible if required.
Your guide will adjust and decide the best path based on your fitness level and stamina.
The hike to the Fagradalsfjall volcano crater can take 30 to 60 minutes each way.

With this option, you will self-drive to our meeting location in Grindavik, 10 minutes from the hiking trail.
You will follow our guide to the correct parking before starting the hike. The exact place to meet your guide will be received with your voucher.

With this option, a round transfer to the volcano is included.
We will pick you up at your accommodation and drive to the volcano trail to meet your local guide. After the tour, we will go back to your hotel.
