How much does a private volcano tour in Iceland cost?
Our private Fagradalsfjall hike starts from USD 1,490 per group, not per person. You get a local guide only for your group, with no strangers joining, plus a flexible start time and flexible pickup. Full payment is required at booking.
Can I choose the start time of my private Fagradalsfjall hike?
Yes. You choose when to start. In summer, departures are usually possible between about 07:00 and 14:00. In winter, timing depends on daylight and road conditions. Your start time is confirmed after booking. Plan for up to 4 hours with self-drive, or up to 6 hours with transfer.
Where can you pick us up, and can you drop us at the Blue Lagoon?
We pick you up from your hotel, guesthouse or Airbnb in Reykjavík, and from Keflavík Airport on request. If you ask for it, we can end the tour with a one-way drop-off at the Blue Lagoon, included in your private tour. Prefer to drive? Meet your guide at Geo Hotel Grindavík.
Is the private volcano hike suitable for children, seniors or beginners?
Yes. The hike is about 8 km round trip with about 300 m of elevation gain, rated easy to moderate. Your guide sets the pace and breaks for your group, which makes the private tour the best choice for families with younger children, seniors and slower walkers. Crampons and poles are provided when needed.
What should I wear and bring for a private volcano hike in Iceland?
Wear sturdy hiking boots, a warm base layer and waterproof outer layers, as Icelandic weather changes fast. Bring gloves, water, snacks and your camera. We provide walking poles, and crampons when trail conditions require them. Your guide adjusts the pace and route to the weather on the day.
